Introduction to Liquefied Gas Semi-trailer Assembly

Liquefied gas semi-trailers (hereinafter referred to as tank trucks) refer to single-car tank trucks and semi-trailer tank trucks with the tank fixed on the chassis of the car. It is a special vehicle for transporting liquefied gas and is flammable and explosive. The composition of the liquefied gas transport truck is as follows:

 

1. Suspension: The suspension system is divided into single-axis main spring, dual-axis, three-axis balanced leaf spring suspension and air suspension. It is used to support the load and absorb driving vibration. The leaf spring is fastened to the axle with U-shaped bolts, and both ends are stuck in the frame. The leaf spring mainly bears the vertical gravity on the frame. Horizontal forces are transmitted by brackets, connecting rods and brackets on the vehicle. Therefore, when the trailer passes through uneven roads, the load on each rear axle is balanced within a certain range.

 

2. Axles and wheels: The axle assembly is a universal component, and a single one can be installed according to the needs of the trailer. The load-bearing capacity of each axle is different, which is divided into 10 tons/unit, 12 tons/unit, 13 tons/unit, etc.

 

The axle is a square tube or round axle. The axle body is equipped with a platform for installing leaf springs and a bracket for installing the brake air chamber. The axle head is used to install wheels, hubs and brakes.

 

3. Frame, traction pin and bolting device: The frame is a skeleton low alloy steel welded structure.

 

Under the front part of the frame, there are traction pins and traction pin fixing plates connected to the tractor. The traction pins are mainly used to transmit traction or braking force.

 

The front of the frame is equipped with air pipe joints and sockets for electrical connections, and various lamps are installed on the front, rear and sides of the frame.

 

The rear lower part of the longitudinal beam has a leaf spring support, and the front lower part has an outrigger support.

 

4. Outriggers and lifting mechanism: In order to ensure that the semi-trailer can be parked reliably after being separated from the tractor, two outriggers and a lifting mechanism are provided at the front end of the frame. The legs are divided into single-action and linkage types. It consists of screw transmission machinery, bevel gear transmission machinery, two-speed reduction box, transmission rod, operating handle, etc. When the handle is pushed in, it can be rotated to achieve high-speed lifting. When the handle is pulled out, it can be rotated to achieve low-speed lifting. When the support plate touches the ground, only low-speed lifting can be used. Special reminder: When driving, please set the outrigger gear position to low speed and place the crank handle in the outrigger hook. When the outrigger drops to the lowest limit (marked), it is strictly prohibited to forcibly swing it down, otherwise it will easily cause damage to the lifting mechanism. The gear is damaged and the support is unstable.

 

5. Brakes and their operating devices: The semi-trailer adopts a dual-pipeline pneumatic braking system.

 

The service brake system mainly consists of components such as inflation pipelines, emergency relay valves, quick release valves, air reservoirs, brake gas and wheel brakes. The air joint of the inflatable pipe is connected to the air reservoir of the tractor, and the air joint of the operating pipeline is connected to the brake valve of the tractor. When the semi-trailer is braking, each brake air chamber acts at the same time. The parking brake system of the semi-trailer is connected to the tractor. The parking brake system operates simultaneously.

 

When the driver steps on the brake pedal, each brake air chamber of the semi-trailer acts at the same time to achieve normal foot braking. Due to the use of an emergency brake valve and a dual-chamber energy storage spring air brake air chamber, when the inflation pipe leaks The semi-trailer can automatically brake when there is a gas or explosion, or when the tractor suddenly separates from the semi-trailer while driving and the pipeline becomes disconnected.

 

There is a manual valve installed on the longitudinal beam of the trailer. Closing the manual valve can separate the tractor and the trailer. After separation, the semi-trailer can still brake on its own, thus ensuring that the vehicle can park safely under any conditions.

 

6. Spare tire rack: The semi-trailer is equipped with a catenary spare tire lift, which can fasten the spare tire under the frame.

 

Special reminder: After the spare tire lifter is lifted into place, the spare tire must be tightened with the two fastening nuts on the spare tire frame.

 

7. Guardrails and rear bumpers: The semi-trailer is equipped with side guards and rear bumpers to ensure the safety of the vehicle. There are fenders above the wheels.

 

8. Electrical system: The semi-trailer is equipped with an internationally accepted electrical system that is compatible with the tractor. There are electrical connection sockets on the front beam of the frame, and brake lights, turn lights, and parking lights on the rear of the frame. There are reversing lights, rear fog lights, license plate lights and triangular reflectors. There are front position lights and width lights on the front and both sides. The voltage of various lamps is DC 24V or 12V.

 

The flow meter that is installed on the trailer is used to measure the amount of LPG being dispensed or transferred. It accurately measures the flow rate or volume of LPG passing through the system, providing accurate readings for billing and inventory purposes.
