Descripton of Lpg Storage Tank

Liquefied gas storage tank is a metal container for storage. As a special container, in addition to being used for storage, it can also be used as a container for other special media. Features of liquefied gas storage tanks include:

1. High pressure: The storage pressure is between 2.5-3.0MPa, which is forty or fifty times that of ordinary normal pressure containers.

2. Strong specificity: If it cannot bear pressure, it cannot be effectively utilized. For liquefied gas, it cannot be stored and supplied. Only fixed or mobile storage tanks manufactured to pressure vessel standards can bear pressure. The storage tank is exclusively used for storage and has no other purpose.

3. Special material: Special steel material must be used to adapt to the characteristics.

4. Large storage capacity: Since it is a flammable and explosive substance, the capacity of the storage tank is not large to ensure safety.

5. High degree of automation: The liquefied gas storage tank is equipped with a safety interlock device, overpressure alarm and emergency venting measures to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.

6. High safety: The storage tank is equipped with safety devices such as automatic cut-off and emergency release, which effectively ensures the safe operation of the equipment.

In summary, liquefied gas storage tanks have the characteristics of high pressure, strong speciality, large storage capacity, and high degree of automation. These characteristics also determine that liquefied gas storage tanks are important equipment that require strict compliance with safety regulations to ensure safety during storage and use.

Using of the LPG Storage Tank

1. The liquefied gas storage tank should be placed in a well-ventilated place, and the distance between it and fire and heat sources should not be less than 1.5m. Liquefied gas storage tanks are not allowed to have air flow causing explosions. After using the liquefied gas storage tank, the valve must be closed tightly to prevent gas leakage.

2. The liquefied gas in the liquefied gas storage tank cannot be exhausted, and there should be a certain residual pressure. The residual pressure should generally be greater than 49.03kPa (i.e. 0.5kg/cm2, gauge pressure) to prevent air from entering the cylinder. After the liquefied petroleum gas is used up, the residual liquid left in the bottle is also a flammable substance and must not be poured on its own to prevent the flow and evaporation of the residual liquid from causing a fire.

3. Liquefied petroleum gas cylinders are pressure vessels and must be well maintained and inspected regularly. During transportation and use, it is necessary to prevent the cylinder from falling or impacting. It is not allowed to use iron tools to knock the cylinder valve to open it. It is necessary to prevent direct sunlight and long-term rain. Liquefied gas storage tanks are generally inspected every 2 years.

4. Although the explosion range of liquefied petroleum gas is not too wide, its lower limit is small, so it is easy to explode in the event of leakage. And because LPG is heavier than air, it flows downward when it leaks in the air, and tends to accumulate in low-lying areas, becoming a hidden danger of gas explosion. Therefore, it is a place where gas can easily leak. Ventilation through windows alone is not enough, you must also pay attention to ventilation at the bottom.

5. When a leak of liquefied gas is found indoors, the doors and windows should be opened in time for ventilation to allow it to spread in the direction where there is no open flame. It is strictly forbidden to use fire nearby. It can only be used after the fault is eliminated and its unique smell disappears. Waste liquid leaked on the ground should be covered with sand and removed to a safe place. When a liquefied gas storage tank catches fire, the valve should be closed immediately, moved to an open area outdoors, and extinguished using methods such as dry powder fire extinguishing agent, carbon dioxide fire extinguishing agent, or covering the lid with a wet sack. Roast over fire, scald in boiling water or expose to sunlight. Always check the air tightness of gas cylinder valves and pipe joints to ensure there is no air leakage. Generally use soapy water to check for air leaks, and it is strictly forbidden to use an open flame to test for leaks.

How to install liquefied gas storage tank

The installation process of liquefied gas storage tanks includes the following steps:

1. Foundation acceptance: Before installation, the foundation of the storage tank to be installed shall be inspected to ensure that it meets the design requirements, and acceptance records shall be kept.

2. Lift the tank above the foundation: Use a gantry Crane or a crane to lift the tank above the foundation, keep the tank level, and fix the tank to the foundation.

3. Peripheral trimming: Use a milling machine to trim the corners at the junction of the tank and the foundation to ensure the verticality of the tank without affecting the stress of the foundation too much.

4. Basic filling: Carry out basic filling of the tank to ensure that the tank is fixed and flat without any gaps. When filling, pay attention to inserting a long water pipe from a manhole or the bottom of the storage tank for filling.

5. Backfill soil around the storage tank: Backfill around the storage tank to ensure that the storage tank will not move.

6. Support and fixation around the storage tank: Use materials such as channel steel or angle iron to support and fix the storage tank to ensure its stability.

7. Cleaning around the storage tank: Clean around the storage tank to ensure the construction site is clean and tidy.

In addition, you need to pay attention to the following points during the installation process:

1. Ensure that the storage tank installation meets the design requirements and ensures its stability and safety.

2. Take safety protection measures to prevent accidents such as falling and electric shock.

3. During the installation process, the site must be kept clean and tidy to prevent littering from affecting the construction progress.

4. After the installation is completed, the site must be cleaned to ensure that the construction site is clean, safe and standardized.

In short, the installation of liquefied gas storage tanks needs to be carried out in strict accordance with specifications and design requirements to ensure its stability and safety. At the same time, safety protection measures and on-site management must be done to prevent accidents.
